Butt-weld Caps: Welded onto the pipe end, offering a permanent closure
Threaded Caps and Plugs: Screwed onto threaded pipe ends for a secure but removable seal.
Socket-weld Caps: Welded onto the pipe end but with a socket for easy alignment and welding.
Plugs in piping systems serve a function similar to pipe caps, but there is a key difference between the two. Pipe caps typically have female threads, which means they fit over the end of a pipe by being welded or screwed onto it.
